We offer foods reminiscent of your childhood that conjure up a pleasant memory or nostalgic moment. Comfort foods are items that make you feel good...not too simple, not too fancy. Our contemporary style means we make food from scratch, sometimes adding an interesting twist. For example, our chicken fried steak is served with locally produced red and green chile instead of traditional white gravy. After all, we are in New Mexico and chile goes with everything. We also have fun with our menu. Try our PB & J “Elvis Style” (organic peanut butter, strawberry jam, fresh strawberries, and sliced bananas). One of our most popular dishes is the Ahi Tuna, crusted in black and white sesame seeds and served with Wasabi cream.
Slate Street Cafe works with local farmers and producers to offer fresh, high quality ingredients. We believe in supporting our local community of farmers and suppliers. You will see this theme throughout our menus. From organic eggs at breakfast to heirloom tomatoes at dinner, our passion for food is present in every dish.
